China Co-Production Treaties

China has several formal (government-to-government) co-production treaties. These treaties encourage co-production between Chinese producers and producers from the co-production treaty nations and ensure the projects generated are treated as 'local content' in both countries ie. by-pass the China quota system and can access local incentives.
 
On the China side, co-productions are managed by the State Administration of Press, Publication Radio, Film and TV (SAPPRFT) and the China Film Co-Production Corporation (CFCC).

AUSTRALIA

The Australia-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2012 and is managed by Screen Australia.

BELGIUM

The Belgium-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2012 and is managed by Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

 

CANADA

The Canada-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 1987 and is managed by Telefilm Canada.

 

ESTONIA

The Estonia-China Co-production Treaty was signed in April 2016.

 

FRANCE

The France-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2010.

 

INDIA

The India-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2014.

 

ITALY

The Italy-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2014.

NETHERLANDS

The Netherlands-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2010 and is managed by the Netherlands Film Fund.

 

NEW ZEALAND

The New Zealand-China Co-production Treaties have been in place since 2010 and are managed by New Zealand Film. New Zealand has treaties for both film and television.

The Singapore-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2010 and is managed by the Media Development Authority.

 

SOUTH KOREA

The South Korea-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2014.

 

SPAIN

The Spain-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2014.

 

UNITED KINGDOM

The UK-China Co-production Treaty has been in place since 2015 and is managed by the British Film institute.
